Herbal Garden

Dr. D.Y. Patil college of Ayurved and Research Institute has developed a Herbal Garden spread over 87,120 Sq.ft of land. This is one of the best Herbal gardens in India with a unique Green house installed in an area of 10,000sq.ft.The Green house displays number of varieties of plants on aesthetically designed beds.   

Also the latest fogging system has been adopted. The greenhouse has a collection of a number of species along with endangered and rare species.

  • No.of total plants                  - 4922 Nos. 
   In total we have around 319 species and approximately 4922 number of plants. The garden has been framed keeping in view of the biodiversity of flora and authenticated traditional herbs mentioned in Ayurveda, folklore, kitchen gardens which serves a very good purpose of museum of medicinal plants.        
Also for the sake of rejuvenating traditional beliefs and ritualsregarding plants projects of Nakshatravana, Rashivana, Navagraha vana etc has been designed. In view of popularising and propagating our ancient traditional science i.e. Ayurveda , the herbal garden not only serves as a good demonstration garden for student training but also for purposes of research, conservation of medicinal plants and educating the use of local medicinal and aromatic plants to the general public.
