Admission

 

We have furnished following procedure for admission and examination for B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery Degree Course.

Eligibility for Admission:
 
1. 12th science pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English taken together from any statutory University/Board which confirms to the specification approved by CCIM and by the Dr.D.Y.Patil University.

And attained the age of 17 years as on 31st December in the year of his/her Admission to college for B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) Course.
 
OR

Any other equivalent qualification recognized by State Govt. and State Educational Board concerned with examination.

 

2.All India Entrance Test (A.I.E.T.) :

All India Entrance Test (A.I.E.T.) will be conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil University. According to merit of A.I..E.T. the admission procedure will be conducted.
 

3. About the Course:

The course of B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) / Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery degree shall be of 5½ years duration i.e. 4½ years Course (which includes 1½ years- First B.A.M.S., 1½ years – Second B.A.M.S. and  1½ years 3rd B.A.M.S.) and one year compulsory internship (as per recommendation of CCIM)  after passing the final year B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) examination.

 

4. Internship:

The duration will be of one year which includes six months College-Hospital OR in the Hospital approved by the Dr.D.Y.Patil University remaining six months internship in Rural Area.
The degree of B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) shall not be conferred unless the candidate has satisfactory completed one year rotating Internship.

 

5. The procedure of examination:

There shall be the following three examinations leading to the degree Of B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya).

I)  First Year B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) examination.
II) Second year B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) examination.
III) Final year B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) examination.

The examination shall be held twice year at such place and on such dates as per University decision time to time. 

Every candidate or B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) degree shall have attended a regular Course of study for a period of not less than 1½ years for such of three examination. Viz. First, Second, Final B.A.M.S. (Ayurvedacharya) Course in constituent Ayurved College of Dr.D.Y.Patil University in the following subjects:

(A) For First Ayurvedacharya Examination- duration 1½ years

(a) Sanskrit
(b) Padartha Vigyan
(c) Ayurved Itihas
(d) Ashtang Hriday
(e) Sharir Rachana Vigyan
(f) Sharir Kriya Vigyan

(B) For Second Ayurvedacharya Examination- duration 1½ years

(a) Swasthavritta
(b) Dravyaguna Vigyan
(c) Rasashastra Bhaishaja – Kalpana
(d) Rogavigyan and Vikruti Vigyan
(e) Agadatantra and Vidhi Ayurved
(f) Charak Samhita (Purvardha)

(C) For Final Ayurvedacharya Examination -  duration 1½ years

(a) Charak Samhita (Uttarardha)
(b) Kayachikitsa
(c) Streeroga &Prasuti Tantra 
(d) Balroga (Kaumarbhritya)
(e) Shalya – Tantra
(f) Shalakya – Tantra

6. The scope of the subjects shall be as indicated in the  syllabus.

7. A Collegiate candidate shall comply with the provisions governing attendance at lectures, etc. prescribed for the examinations in the faculty of Ayurvedic Medicine. The clinical training in Hospital to the students in the Second and Final Year shall be as shown under the scheme of Lectures, Practical’s and Demonstrations for various subjects year wise.

8. In order to pass the examination, the examinee must obtain in each subject not less than the minimum 50% marks.

09. To compensate for the loss the candidates may suffer on account of their absence at any of the Internal Examination for genuine reasons, an additional examination will be conducted after the Preliminary Examination but before the Annual Examination and the candidates who geniuses of reason for absence is verified by the Dean/committee of the college will be allowed to appear for this additional examination and based on their performance internal assessment marks of such candidates will be worked out.

10. Grace Marks should be given in individual head of passing.

10.1  Grace Marks for passing:-

Grace marks as detailed below can be given to enable a   candidate to pass in a head of passing that the total number of grace marks given in different heads of passing do not exceed 1% of the aggregate marks at the examination i.e. the aggregate marks of the F.Y.B.A.M.S. examination are 1550 as such maximum Grace marks admissible are 15 for S.Y.B.A.M.S. total aggregate marks are 1750& for T.Y.B.A.M.S. total aggregate marks are 1950

Provided further that, the benefit of the gracing of marks under this Bye-Laws, shall be applicable only if the candidate passes the entire examination.

10.2 Failed candidate shall be eligible to appear in those subjects for 3 times which may be held every 6 months. 

10.3 The provision of A.T.K.T. should be continued in any tow subjects for F.Y.B.A.M.S. & S.Y.B.A.M.S. This rule is mentioned in CCIM Rules & Regulation Act. 1970 (8.1)

10.4 Theory & Practical should be categorized under different heads of passing. 
(Theory & Internal Assessment ) (Practical /Viva + Internal Assessment + Journal)

 

11. An unsuccessful candidate shall be eligible for admission to one or more subsequent examination;
     (i) On payment of the prescribed fee, and
     (ii) On production of a certificate to the effect that he/she has, since last 
         admission to the examination, attended a further course of   
         instruction for one turn in the subject or subjects in which he/she 
         has failed and, is to be examine, to the satisfaction of the 
         Head of the College.

 

12. An examinee who has passed in a subject/subjects shall be exempted from re-appearing in that/those subjects at a subsequent examination and shall be declared to have passed the whole examination when he/she has passed in all the subjects of the examination.

13. A successful examinee passing an examination obtaining not less than 75% of the total marks prescribed in a subject shall be declared to have passed the examination with Distinction in that subject.

14. A successful examinee passing an examination obtaining not less than 60% of total marks prescribed in a subject shall be declared to have passed the examination with 1st Class.

15. The results the examination shall be declared with in 45 days from the last practical/viva examination.

16. Not with standing anything to the contrary no person shall be admitted to the examination, if he/she already passed the same examination or an equivalent examination of any other statutory University.

17. Examination successful at the First, Second & Third Ayurvedacharya Examinations shall be entitled to receive a Certificate in the prescribed form signed by the Registrar and Controller of examination, the degree certificate will be issued with the signed by the Vice-Chancellor.

Scheme of distribution of Internship of one year after passing the Final Ayurvedacharya Examination under this Ordinance shall be as follows:

1) Six months Internship in College where the student has studied.
2) 6 months Internship in Rural Area. 

The whole procedure of Admission And Examination shall be conducted as per norms directed by Central Council of India Medicine (C.C.I.M.), New Delhi.
