Agada Tantra – Visha Tantra
1. Derivation, definition & significance of Agadatantra, definition of Visha, origin of visha (Vishayoni) and actions of Visha(Visha Kriya) and its types, Vishagati. Adhisthāna of Sthāvara Vishas, Adhisthāna of Jangama vishas, duties of Prānāchārya.
2. Examination of Visha – Appearance (Swaroopa) and Pānchabhautika examination. Examination of Visha according to their origin and properties , examination of Vishas on living organisms and diseases caused by them. Modes of administration of poison, channels of elimination, action of poison, factors modifying action of poisoning.
3. Symptoms of Visahdātā, seats of Visha in edibles, clothes etc. Examination of vishākta food, problems caused by visha, Shankāvisha, Vishasankata, Vishotkarshahetu and Vishakanyā. The use of visha and their remedy in wars during ancient times, Vishaprayoga in water and water reservoir, land and Anna- trina. Vishaprayoga in Vāyu Mandala.
4. What are Upavishās? their number, definition of Dushivisha and Garavisha, features of Visha and their treatment. Ten features of visha, the gunas of vishas opposite to Oja gunas. Vishavega, Vegāntara, Vegalakshana and their treatment.
5. Examination of different Sthāvara visha, Gandhakāmlādi (Corrosive poisons- Nitric acid, Sulphuric acid, Oxalic acid, Carbolic acid, Ammonia, Caustic soda, Caustic potash) and Kritrima visha (Agrichemical poisons- Organo phosphorus compounds, Chlorinated compounds. Petroleum, Barbiturates, Chloral hydrate, Chloroform, Carbon dioxide, Powdered glass, Tranquilizers.) according to their lakshanas and gunas, their fatal dose, fatal symptoms and treatment. Knowledge of signs and symptoms pertaining to post mortem.
6. General principles of treatment for visha and treatment described by Charak : Mantra, Arishthabandhana, Utkartana, Nishpidana, Chushana, Agni, Parisheka, Avgahana, Raktamokshana, Vamana, Virechana, Updhaana, Hridyāvarana, Anjana, Nasya, Dhooma, Leha, Aaushdhama, Pradhamanama (Prashmanama), Pratisāarana, Prativisha, Sanjnāsthāpana, lepa and Mritasanjivanama.

7. Madyavisha – Doshas and gunas of madyavisha. Three specific stages of madhyātireka, clinical features and treatment of Madātaya.
8. Jangamavisha - Sarpavisha, types of poisonous snakes, clinical features and treatment of snake bite. Vrishchika visha – Lutāvisha- Mushakavisha – their clinical features and treatment. Clinical Manifestations and treatment of Alarka visha. Prognosis (Sādhyāsādhyatā) of Alarka visha.
9. Upavisha - Description, clinical features and treatment. Kupilu, Bhallātak, Ahiphena, Jayapāla, Dhaturā, Bhānga, Arka, Snuhi, Kalihāri, Gunjā and Ashwamāra. Vatsanābha, Cocaine, Tobacco, Digitalis, Ergot, Erand, Indrāyan, Chitrak Vishasya shodhanam prakriyam.
10. Description of Khanija visha (Mineral poisons) : Pārada- Nāga-Vanga – Giripāshāna Tāmra, Yashad, Phosphorus, Iron etc., their effects, manifestations and treatment.
11. Description of Aahāra visha – Incompatibilities ( Virudha Dravya sevanama) – Guna virudha, Kaalavirudha, Mātrāvirudha, Swabhāvavirudha, General treatment of Aahāravisha.
12. Commonly used poisons in India, their classification, symptoms appearing after their consumption, etiology (Nidana), diagnosis and treatment. Features seen during Postmortem. Duties of a physician when he encounters a doubtful case of ingestion of poison. Laws relating to poisons.

1. Derivation of Vyavhārāyurveda, Nyāyālya (courts) and the descriptions related to them, Police inquest, Shapatha (Oath), Medical evidence, Medical certificate, Dying declaration (Verbal and written), its definition, description, rules and regulations pertaining to it. Bhāratiya danda samhitā (IPC), Danda prakriyā
2. Age elaboration, its determination and introduction.
3.Mrityu (Death) and its medico legal aspects, modes of death. Signs of death. Cadaveric rigidity (Rigor mortis) determination of time of death.

5. Vyābhichāra (Sexual offences) and Aprākrita Karma (Unnatural sexual offences), Garbhapāta (Abortion), Bhruna Hatya (Infanticide), Napunsaktā (Impotence) and Vandhyatva (Sterility), Vaidhatā (Legitimacy) Medico legal aspects of Kaumārya (Virginity), Sagarbhatā (Pregnancy), Prasava (Delivery)
6. Unmāda Grastha (Insanity) and its medicolegal aspects.
7. Duties of Chikitsaka (Physician), conduct, rules and regulations, professional rights and confidentiality.
8. Elaborate: “Dharma, Artha, Kāma and Moksha are utmost objectives of Ayurveda”.
9. “Adharma” responsible for all disorders. Therefore “Dharma Pālana” is a must.
